We recently sent out a submission request to past clients for our blog and Danielle & Eddie responded right away. We're so happy they did!
Make sure you scroll to the bottom of this post to watch their wedding video. We started bawling at the 30 second mark (this might be a record), right when the focus of the video is on the emotion of Danielle's bridesmaids seeing her in her dress.
Danielle and Eddie were married in Boston on a snowy winter day. Here, Danielle shares how personalizing the little details of your day help you cherish everything that much more, their Rescue Flats display details, and why Rescue Flats were a great choice for their winter wedding.

Tell us about the theme of your wedding, or the general wedding vibe!
I love Old Hollywood and really wanted a touch of that sophisticated glamour at our wedding. The venue is a historic hotel in Downtown Boston and I tried to stay true to their classic decor with Art Deco inspired invitations, menus and beaded bridesmaid gowns for my girls. We opted for classic ivory flowers and linens with gold accents for a little sparkle.
What was your favourite thing about the wedding?
The genuine excitement of our wedding party and guests. My husband and I are high school sweethearts and as our friends and family always enjoyed pointing out, they waited a long time for this celebration. The energy in the ballroom was nothing short of amazing and we couldn't have felt more loved.
What is your number one best piece of advice for planning a wedding?
Remember the day is ultimately about the two of you! If you can, incorporate little things that you'll both look back on and smile. As an example, we had a very classic, white wedding cake with gold accents but I asked for a tiny Spiderman peeking out from the bottom to surprise my husband.
Why did you choose Rescue Flats for your wedding?
Having a winter wedding in Boston means asking people to come out to celebrate in pretty cold weather; we wanted to make sure our guests felt appreciated and as comfortable as possible.
Did you have other wedding favours?
We had a photobooth for our guests and Sugarfina "Champagne Bubbles" candies in custom labeled cubes. On the bar we had small glass bowls with matchbooks printed with our names and wedding date.
Tell us about how you displayed the flats. If you use the box sets for display, did you include any of our printable downloads, or did you have custom-made signs?
Printables! Easiest part of the whole wedding planning process. All I had to do was put them in simple gold frames and they were good to go along with the box sets. We had one display in front of our table and another in front of the DJ.
Did you have any reservations about buying Rescue Flats? How did those feelings change after receiving the flats? What did you like most about the Rescue Flats?
I honestly didn't have any reservations. I was excited when I discovered the idea, especially the heel bags! Most of us have spent too much time under a table at the end of a wedding searching for our shoes.
What was the best thing about having Rescue Flats at your wedding?
Since it was a winter wedding, Rescue Flats were the perfect extra favor to offer our guests. Comfort with a little flair and no cold flip flop toes! We ended up having a blizzard that day so they were even more appreciated than we anticipated.
How did your wedding guests respond to the Rescue Flats?
They loved them. I heard so many compliments on the quality; several people asked if they could take a second pair!
If you were to recommend us to your best friend, what would you say?
You can't go wrong with these! Rescue Flats offer a stylish "little something" your family and friends will appreciate.
